Calcium is a promising treatment for PMDD (Premenstrual Dysphoric Disorder). Just about all studies done in calcium and Supplements For PMS show that it does provide symptom relief. In the largest research, women took 1200mg daily and had almost the 50% reduction in their signs and symptoms. Some women on this study who were taking a placebo had a 30% reduction in symptoms, (which just goes to show the power of positive contemplating!).

One scientific study established that women have lower levels associated with calcium the week just before their period as opposed to week after his or her period. That could show that PMDD symptoms tend to be partially due to low calcium levels. Furthermore, the symptoms of those with low levels of calcium mineral were the same as PMS along with PMDD symptoms.

There is a few evidence that women using a premenstrual disorder, like PMDD, have a very lower bone muscle size. This hasn't been proved to be related to calcium, just about all hasn't been proven it is NOT related. Considering most women only acquire half the encouraged daily allowance, sport nutrition would help protect the bones as you age.

Since there's facts that it helps ease premenstrual symptoms and could become an effective PMDD treatment, then it wouldn't hurt allow it a try. Calcium supplements are often safe and traditionally used. Keep in mind that calcium intake is inhibited simply by too much protein, oxalic acid solution (found in leafy green vegetables) and alcohol. So will not overdo it in any of those areas.
